Bubriski’s fine art photographs are in the permanent collections of the Museum of Modern Art, the Metropolitan Museum of Art, the International Center of Photography, the San Francisco Museum of Modern Art, and the Bibliotheque Nationale, Paris. A recipient of Guggenheim, Fulbright and NEA fellowships, Bubriski worked for nine years in Nepal, and has also photographed his numerous journeys to India, Tibet, and Bangladesh.
His books include Portrait of Nepal, (1993); Power Places of Kathmandu: Hindu and Buddhist Holy Sites in the Sacred Valley of Nepal (1995) and Pilgrimage: Looking at Ground Zero (2002) . Bubriski’s 2010 photographs of Nepal’s Moaist combatant portraits were published and printed in Kathmandu as the book Maobadi (Himal Books 2011). In conjunction with receiving the Peabody Museum Robert Gardner Visiting Fellowship in 2010, Bubriski’s large retrospective monograph Nepal 1975-2011 was published by Radius Books of Santa Fe, NM and the Peabody Museum Press of Harvard University in 2014. His new 2016 book Look into My Eyes: Nuevomexicanos por Vida, ‘81–’83 was published by the Museum of New Mexico Press in Santa Fe, New Mexico.
